On the North Shore, the period in late fall before snow has fallen but after the leaves have turned brown and dried tends to be monochromatic and drab. Things are shutting down for the winter and while awaiting the first big snowstorm, the lushness of summer seems far away. However, even in this gray and brown landscape, beauty is abundant, just slightly more subtle.
